Zinc is a lustrous bluish-white metal, belong to group IIB element. It is brittle and crystalline at ambient temperatures, but it becomes ductile and malleable when heated between 110°C and 150°C. It is a reasonable conductor of electricity, and burns in air at high red heat with evolution of white clouds of the oxide.It is a fairly reactive metal that will combine with and other non-metals, and will react with dilute acids to release hydrogen.
